Whether you have an existing practice or thinking of starting your own, we can provide you the best opportunity to run your own successful and highly profitable practice.
OUR STORY
The award winning Back In Motion Health Group commenced as a small practice in the home of founders, Jason and Paulina Smith, in late 1999. Early success resulted in quick growth, and by April 2000 the practice was moved into humble commercial medical facilities. Over the next few years, and not without its challenges, a passionate team soon gathered around Jason as he focused on emerging as one of the finest health groups within the physiotherapy industry.
The BIM Health Group is now positioned with more than 23 practices across 2 states, 21 “satellite” sites, more than 17 Franchisees operating the businesses, support from 180 staff members, a strong Corporate Health Services team sub-branded Actif, an Aged Care Team, and a National Support Office with over 10 full time staff heading up specialist services. We have built a ‘values’ platform that reinforces our commitment to people, lifetime results for clients and a culture of acknowledgement amongst staff. The cornerstone of our success is built on our tailored definition of ‘integrity’ – which reminds us all to do the right thing, at the right time, for the right reasons, even when nobody else is watching us.

Our Concept
The Back In Motion Health Group first emerged from a concept or desire to operate a prestigious physiotherapy practice which offered clients’ holistic solutions, sustainable outcomes, genuine after-care, while relating to people with rapport and dignity. The more traditional physiotherapy practices observed at the time certainly did not reflect these founding values or philosophies of care that Jason Smith shared.
Furthermore, the practice had to somehow afford revenue to support a professional team and offer lifestyle choices to the owning practitioners for the model to be sustainable. A simple review of the landscape of the physiotherapy industry at the time with regards to profitability and practice growth, would have quickly convinced you that there were few examples of sound business models able to achieve these pursuits.
Therefore, with few other options, and from his original homed-based practice, Jason applied his entrepreneurial attitude together with industry research and strategic planning to develop a unique physiotherapy concept into the strong practice group that it is today. Jason has an innate understanding of the physiotherapy industry as a whole and has sought out a defined point of difference in a competitive industry.
The BIM Health Group now represents numerous corporate entities that relate in an effective way to deliver a broad range of physiotherapy and related services to both individual and corporate clients. The legal and financial structure of the group has been designed to accommodate mixed equity and various levels of directorship amongst key stakeholders.
Our group is quickly emerging as the service provider, workplace and business model of choice in the otherwise ‘cottage’ industry that is physiotherapy. National representation is the next chapter in the book of developing strategies for the Health Group, to allow for greater expansion and consolidation of this proven healthcare success.
