Back In Motion Health Group has announced the three successful applicants of its Practice Launch Scholarship Program which will see new Back In Motion practices launched in Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia.

Paul and Kerry Rowson (VIC), Orlando Meehan (WA), and Gavin Corica and Nick Wigger (QLD) will each receive comprehensive clinical, commercial and leadership training as well as the right to open their own Back In Motion practice through the funding of a $70,000 Grant.

The scholarship program, launched in December 2015, aims to encourage and nurture the careers of talented physios across Australia. The successful applicants were chosen from a strong group of submissions for their ability to demonstrate long-term vision backed by a coordinated business plan.

Paul Rowson has been operating his practice - Balnarring Physiotherapy – in the region since 1989 with Kerry joining him at the practice in 1993. Paul and Kerry are joined at Back In Motion Balnarring by physio Ash Samarakoon and Practice Manager Wendy Franke who has worked at the practice since 1997. Paul and Kerry will open their Back In Motion practice in a purpose-built facility in early 2017.

Orlando Meehan will join Back In Motion as a Director of a practice in Perth. Hailing from the Western Australian capital, Orlando is currently a principal physio in Port Headland. He and his wife Melissa will return to Perth to open their Back In Motion practice in mid-2017.

Two highly-successfully directors Gavin Corica and Nick Wigger, will join forces to take ownership of their third Back In Motion practice, adding to the Group’s growing Queensland footprint.

Back In Motion founder and Group Director Jason Smith congratulated the three scholarship teams on their successful applications.

“They each have their own story and reasons for applying and joining our Group, but each one will benefit from the strength of our network, our proven business model, clinical philosophy and professional camaraderie,” Mr Smith said.

“We look forward to working alongside them to realise their professional and personal goals.”

Back In Motion Health Group was founded in 1999 by Melbourne-based physio Jason Smith.
