Our physiotherapist, Vincent, has created a couple of quick videos with some taping techniques that you can do at home if you have an injury.
First up is knee taping. This can be used if you have knee pain, however, please note, that there are many ways to tape the knee - and so while this is appropriate for some conditions, it is not appropriate or the best choice for all knee conditions and injuries. It is always best to have an assessment with a physiotherapist to see if this would be appropriate.
With taping, it is important that if the tape makes the skin red or itchy to take it off straight away. You can generally shower with the tape on (and pat dry afterwards) and leave on for a couple of days (in the acute stage) or for the event (if taping to get through a game and reduce the risk of injury). Of course, you should always have your injury assessed first to ensure that this tape is correct for you and that any return to your normal activities is advisable at that particular time.
