At Back In Motion Brighton, we’re all about helping people stay moving well and living independently as they get older.
We work with older adults who want to feel stronger, steadier, and more confident in their body whether that’s getting up from a chair more easily, walking without fear of falling, or getting back to doing the things they enjoy. You don’t have to just “put up with” aches, stiffness, or feeling unsteady.
How we can help
Our team is focused on keeping things simple, practical, and tailored to you.
We can help you:
- Feel stronger and more stable on your feet
- Improve your balance and reduce your risk of falls
- Ease aches and pains (like arthritis)
- Build confidence with walking and everyday movements
- Get back on track after surgery
- Stay independent for longer
What we commonly see
We regularly help people with:
- Arthritis and general joint pain
- Osteoporosis or low bone density
- Balance issues or recent falls
- Feeling weaker or less steady than they used to
- Pre and post recovery from surgery
- Parkinson’s disease
What to expect
Your first session is a thorough assessment where we chat about what’s been going on and your goals. From there, we put together a plan that suits you.
Treatment might include:
- Strength and balance exercises
- Practicing everyday movements (like getting up, walking, stairs)
- Hands-on treatment
- Advice on how to move safely and confidently at home
Falls prevention
A lot of people we see are worried about falling or have already had a fall. The good news is, there’s a lot we can do to reduce that risk. We’ll work on your strength, balance, and confidence, and give you strategies that actually fit into your day-to-day life so you feel safer and more in control.
Exercise that’s right for you
As part of your tailored plan, your physiotherapist might suggest strength-based exercise to support bone health or small group sessions where you can keep building strength in a safe, supported environment.
