Want to get smarter? Go for a run!

Published: October 30, 2019

Multiple studies in multiple animals show that sustained running triggers neurogenesis (the growth of brain cells) in the hippocampus, a part of the brain that is responsible for forming new memories and learning. In addition to this, running has similar effects to meditation for stress relief and mood regulation, improves cardiovascular health, and increases muscular endurance. ⠀
Do you need any more reasons to pull on your running shoes? Get out there - but just remember to start with short distances, build by no more than 10% a week, and have at least four rest days, not running two days in a row. Otherwise your muscles and tendons and joints won't recover and rebuild in time - and you might have to use our booking link!⠀
