Cost? FREE Education session with Physiotherapist Tanya Todd from 1:30-3:00pm



After your second education session you will then be put into our GLA:D class that is held on Tuesdays 3:00pm-4:00pm

1. What is the GLA:D program Australia?

GLA:D® is an education and exercise program developed by researchers in Denmark for people with hip or knee osteoarthritis symptoms.

Research from the GLA:D® program in Denmark shows symptom progression reduces by 32%.

Other outcomes include a less pain, reduced use of joint related pain killers, and less people on sick leave. GLA:D® participants also reported high levels of satisfaction with the program and increased levels of physical activity 12 months after starting the program.

This program is unique in that the education and exercises provided can be applied to everyday activities. By strengthening and correcting daily movement patterns, participants will train their bodies to move properly, prevent symptom progression and reduce pain.



2. How much does the GLA:D program cost?
The two education sessions are completely FREE! This gives you the opportunity to hear about the program and figure out whether or not this is right for you and if it will help reduce pain with your symptoms.

If you are wanting to continue with the program and attend classes we offer a 6 week package for you. 
Package cost for 6 week program-  $699.00


3. What's included in the GLA:D Program and cost?

Two FREE education sessions which teach you about OA, how the GLA:D™ Australia exercises improve joint stability, and how to retain this improved joint stability outside of the program
A first appointment with Tanya Todd explaining the program and collecting data on your current functional ability
Group neuromuscular training sessions twice a week for six weeks to improve muscle control of the joint which leads to reduction in symptoms and improved quality of life


4. Do I need a referral for the GLA:D program?

A referral is not required from your GP. 


5.Can I pay for individual classes?

Unfortunately you can't pay for an individual class. Classes are bought through a package which allows you to successfully complete the program and see the end results.


6. Is this claimable with TAC, Workcover or EPC's?

Workcover and TAC is not approved for this program yet. You will be required to pay at the private rate.
EPC's can be covered for some of the sessions.

7. How many people are in class?

There is no maximum amount of people for education session. There are only 4 people that can be put in the class afterwards though.
