What is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist?

Accredited Exercise Physiologists are university trained, recognised allied health professionals who design and deliver exercise interventions for the prevention and management of a range of musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, metabolic, neurological, cancer, pain and mental health conditions.

They can also provide advanced health and physical activity education, advice and support to promote a healthy and active lifestyle. Exercise Physiologists are responsible for conditioning clients to higher levels of physical fitness and improved health, while staying aware of safety issues that can be associated with exercise in those with, but not limited to, acute, sub-acute and chronic conditions.

Why Choose us for your Exercise Physiology needs?

At Back In Motion Mudjimba we aim to not only provide excellent exercise physiology services but deliver the most advanced and up to date treatments. Quality Exercise Physiology has an incredible impact on you reaching your recovery and or physical life-long health goals sooner. We have the ability to complete real-time assessments using our AxIT system, making designing interventions more accurate and efficient. We are able to meet all your specific needs by designing services backed by our unique Results4Life® philosophy.

Who would benefit from Exercise Physiology treatment?

Everyone can benefit from exercise physiology treatment. If you are living with a chronic condition, injury or illness, an Accredited Exercise Physiologist is the best person to help you get moving again. They understand the challenges involved and will work with you (and your doctor) to prescribe sage and effective exercise interventions.

If you are healthy and are looking for someone to design safe exercise routines to keep you, injury free and moving to the best of your ability then an Accredited Exercise Physiologist can help with this too! Their knowledge of how the body responds to physical stress helps them provide efficient and safe programs for everyone.

Exercise Physiology or Physiotherapy – What is the difference?

Exercise Physiology is sometimes confused with physiotherapy, whilst we may offer many of the same services there are some distinct differences. Along with treatments for muscle and joint rehabilitation, utilising evidence-based movement interventions exercise physiologists can also provide treatment for diseases and conditions not traditionally treated by physiotherapists.

Do I need a referral to see an Exercise Physiologist?

No, you do not need a referral, so book in for an initial assessment to see how one of our Accredited Exercise Physiologists can help you. Please note a GP referral is required if you are being seen under an EPC plan, DVA or compensable client.

As the service is delivered by an accredited exercise physiologist, health fund rebates are available to clients, should you have the right level of cover.
