In September, our staff gathered at our Annual Symposium at the Park Royal Tullamarine, with all the Back In Motion's from around the country, for some workshops and to mingle with our fellow colleges. During the day, a few awards are giving out, including one called the Hector award. This award is granted to the network’s leading physiotherapist – a grand honour indeed!
Why is is called the Hector Award? Physicians like Hector and his contemporary, Hippocrates, are believed to have been the first practitioners of a primitive physical therapy, advocating massage and hydrotherapy to treat people in 460 B.C.
• In particular, this award acknowledges excellence in:
o Clinical Service Delivery
o Client fulfillment
o Caseload Management
o Ongoing Professional Development
o Peer Leadership
This year’s Hector Prize recipient has been described as the essential factor that uplifts the positive culture in his practice. He is a strong believer and advocate of our optimal life-long health philosophy and he is adored by his patients and colleagues alike. Always with a smile on his face he is guaranteed to put a smile on yours. Selfless, compassionate and inquisitive - he exudes all the qualities that comprise our ELLIS* ideal. Widely recognised as a truly extraordinary professional and amazing person to boot. This guy impressed one of our head office staff with a follow up email in his first few weeks of joining the practice, as I had been an old client at this practice.
We are so very pleased to announce and congratulate our very own Brandan Smith for winning this years award. Our Director Majd, also won the award in 2013.
