Balance is an important part of health and helps prevent us from falls and enables us to move confidently through different environments and walk on different surfaces.
Unfortunately, with certain medical conditions, medications and increasing age our balance can be affected. However, we can preserve and even improve balance!
Some basic home exercises can include:
Single leg balance
Split stance balance (alternating which leg is behind)
Tightrope/tandem walk (same as the tandem stance, but this time walking in that pattern
Slow Marching
*Balance exercises are recommended to be done near a wall or bench for safety while practicing. If you do feel unsafe make an appointment with us online or over the phone to further assess your balance and provide a more tailored program to your individual condition.
