There has been some alarming figures the past few days for Victoria around Coronavirus.
We are keeping a very close eye on all things coronavirus, including numbers, health department and Victorian government recommendations and the local activity in the Kingston area and nearby councils.
Despite more than 700 cases yesterday, there was only 1 new case in the City of Kingston. This is a very positive sign for our local area and a sign that our community is managing well. There are known outbreaks in Cheltenham (Cheltenham East Primary School, Cheltenham Secondary College), Parkdale Primary School, Westall Primary School, Kingston Heath Primary School, Transdev depot in Keysborough and BUPA Edithvale.
New restrictions that have been announced don't directly affect our community or clinic as they relate to regional centres.
We are fortunate that PHYSIOTHERAPY REMAINS AN ESSENTIAL SERVICE
It has been recommended by the Health Minister, Jenny Mikakos, that patients continue to receive Medical Care (including Physiotherapy) as 1 of 4 reasons to leave your house
Please be assured that we are continuing everything possible to protect the safety of staff, patients and the community. This includes:
- In-car waiting for all patients
- Sanitization for patients and staff
- Your temperature will be taken prior to your appointment
- Linen is still absent from headrests
- Beds are wiped down after treatment
- Cough screen protection at reception
- Mandatory masks for patients - and if you don't have one, you have access to our surgical masks and we have a supply of N95 respirators for staff
- Hospital grade disinfectant used after each contact of equipment and regular cleaning in clinic
- We are also continuing to run TELEHEALTH sessions via Zoom
- Reduced team rosters to reduce people in clinic
