Some more news regarding recent updates as we head into Stage 4.
The DHHS have now confirmed that you DO NOT need a GP referral to access physiotherapy in this stage. Physiotherapy is a primary contact and care service and as such no referrals are required. This is great news for everyone as it will stop the unnecessary rush on GP clinics to provide this referral.
For Exercise Physiology, a GP referral is recommended. This does not apply to Workcover, TAC, DVA or NDIS patients accessing Exercise Physiology.
In addition to our protocols and procedures, we have completed our mandatory COVID Safe Plan as required by the Victorian Government. In this we are requiring all staff and patients to sign a declaration before each appointment simply stating that they haven't been unwell, tested for or been in contact with a positive COVID case. This is to ensure the safety and well being of staff and patients and is an added measure as we do our bit to stop the spread.
We are still open
The Government recommendations and new restrictions still allow for you leave your home to attend medical and/or health appointments, this includes Physiotherapy.
All exercise and shopping for food must be carried out within 5km of where you live. The 5km radius does not apply for those who need to receive healthcare services. Therefore, you will still be able to see your physio if you have to travel more than 5km to our practice.
“You can leave home to receive health care or attend medical appointments. If you need to see a doctor or health care professional, you should do so. Do not put off getting medical care. Your doctor or health care professional can provide advice on how to stay safe.” (DHHS)
