COVID reminder!

Published: January 12, 2022

COVID has continued to take Victoria, and Australia by storm early into 2022. The good news is that, while numbers appear to be high, the severity of illness is not as bad as prior strains which are resulting in a much lower percentage of infection people going to hospital and needing advanced care.

Even though the restrictions from the government around testing and isolating have eased, we are still maintaining high cleaning and infection control standards in clinic. This includes, but is not limited to:

- Mandatory mask wearing

- Clinical staff wearing N95 masks

- Protective screens for admin

- Sanitisers for staff and patient use

- Cleaning after each contact with treatment beds and gym equipment

- Opening of windows and doors where possible

- There is also a government mandate for all health care workers (amongst other industries) to have the booster vaccine prior to March

In addition to these measures, we are monitoring symptoms and close contacts. We have recently had staff members in isolation over the new year celebration period and thankfully they have been ok. We are very fortunate to not have had any issues in clinic (as yet) - and whilst we know that this is coming, we are trying to best prepare ourselvees to protect staff and the community.

As such, a gentle reminder to ensure that if you are a close contact, or you have symptoms to please postpone your appointment or delay coming in until you have no symptoms and a negative test (for those close contacts). This will help to ensure that we can remain staffed at all times and provide the best care and service for our patients. We are obviously also expecting this from our staff as well.
