Before exercising while pregnant, it is always advised to consult with your doctor. If you are cleared to exercise during pregnancy several health benefits include:

  • Reduced risk of back and pelvic pain
  • Management of pelvic floor to reduce risk of incontinence during and after pregnancy
  • Improved energy levels
  • Working towards physical demands of labor and motherhood

It is important to note that you may need to adjust your exercise routine while pregnant to accommodate changes in heart rate, blood pressure, weight gain and posture.
A combination of strength, cardiovascular and stretching exercises can be helpful to include in the routine.

At Back In Motion Aspendale Gardens we have small individual pilates classes that are designed to assist with strength and flexibility, and your position and posture can be modified so that you can participate in light to moderate exercise during and after pregnancy. If you wish to book an assessment with Kate, please call 95801985 or book online here.
