Group Classes are back

Published: November 6, 2020

We welcome the recent success of all Victorian's in stemming the COVID pandemic! It has just been released that for 7 straight days there has not been a new case or death, something that seemed a long way off a month or so ago.

There are expected to be some changes this week, from 11.59pm on the 8th of November. One of these changes directly impacts us in clinic.

Yesterday, the Chief Allied Health Officer said that indoor group classes WOULD recommence from the 9th of November. This is fantastic news for many people as these classes offer a longer rehabilitation time at a cheaper cost, making it an appropriate option for all in their recovery from injury.

There are still some restrictions on this including:

For clinical settings, indoor groups will need to apply a density quotient of 1 person per 4 square metres, with a patron cap of up to 10 people per space – practitioners are excluded from the group numbers.

For health professionals, that provide clinical services in a fitness industry setting (ie. public/commercial gym) a density quotient of 1 person per 8 square metres with a patron cap of up to 10 people applies – practitioners are again excluded from the group numbers.

No shared equipment.

Stagger session times to avoid congregation or exceeding patron limits.

There will be no restrictions on the clinical indications for metro Melbourne or regional Victoria after 8 November 2020.

Our gym space is large enough to accomodate more than 4 patients in a group setting, however, we have decided it best to limit class numbers to only 3 patients. This is to ensure that we continue the high standard of cleaning, social distancing into and out of our clinic and rehabilitation that we pride ourselves on.

If you have been in a class previously, we will be in contact. If you are interested in a class, please call us on 95801985 or book online for a free assessment to discuss further.
