Earlier this week, the Victorian Government announced mandatory face coverings or masks when out in public from Wednesday the 22nd of July at 11.59pm.
Our staff have been wearing masks for some time now. For health professionals, this has to be Level 1 PPE (surgical mask or N95 respirator), which all of our staff are wearing. But these changes coming into effect now require patients to wear a face covering. All patients will be required to do this, and if you do not have one, we can supply a surgical mask for you.
All patients will need to wear the mask when entering and exiting the clinic, and at all times while in the clinic (unless you have a medical exemption). If you are finding it difficult to breathe in certain situations (for instance, lying face down on the treatment bed, or when completing rehabilitation in our rehab space), you may remove your mask. This is in line with the current government advice, but also must be discussed with your physiotherapist or exercise physiologist.
We don’t want you to stop treatment and jeopardise your health, recovery or injury if you can’t get a mask - and that is why we can offer new masks for all patients.
The longer an injury or pain is there, the harder and slower it is to resolve. This is why treatment is important - and we want to reduce barriers to treatment.
If you are unsure, or have any questions, please call our clinic on 95801985 and we can discuss your specific situation with you. If you still need our help, but would prefer to do so from the comfort of your own home, we can arrange telerehab and telehealth sessions (for injury or rehabilitation).
