Mattresses!

Published: August 8, 2025

Mattresses - we spend approximately 33% of our lives on them, but we rarely think about them. And with so many options on the market, it is very difficult to figure out what the best options are. Sleep is so important for recovery, rest and optimal performance. Without it - you can be open to more injury and longer recovery periods.

Ultimately, it has to be comfortable. Can you get this over a 5 minute test? Maybe - but maybe not. Next, the alignment of your spine and neck needs to be correct - with appropriate and additional support at the level of your hips and shoulders to ensure that the back remains in a straight and supported position. This can vary pending your height, weight, sleeping position, current and past injuries and other factors.

So - how do you choose?

That is a golden question!!

It is near on impossible. Everyone will promise certain things - but the best thing that you can do is give it a good try. Make sure that there are good returns policies, with an extended risk free trial period of 100+ days. That way you can give it a good try to see if it is the right mattress for you. Also, make sure that the bed base is appropriate.

How long should a mattress last?

If you speak to someone selling you a mattress - they might say 7 years. But in reality - around 10-15 years is a mattress that has provided good service. You will need to rotate your mattress (and flip over if you can) 180 deg to ensure that you are sleeping on a new area of mattress, where the springs and foam have not sagged where you will loose that support. This should happen every 3 months or so.

If you are unsure, please contact us on 95801985 or book online. We can discuss with you different options. There is a lot of noise out there - but it is important that you choose the right mattress for you.
