The year is underway – and so is our Over 55’s Exercise Class!
This class is held each Wednesday at 2pm at the Aspendale Gardens Community Centre. This hour long class focusses on mobility, strength, balance and endurance – all things that tend to fall away with age. People are active in their working life – travelling, working, going to the gym, maintaining the house – but unfortunately, when we retire, often people stop. When people stop, the body adapts – and in doing so, the body gets weaker and everyday activities become harder. We often see patients who come into injury, or have difficulty with common functional tasks such as sit to stand or getting down and up from the ground. These tasks are required in every day life and we don’t know we can’t do it until it is too late. This is where specific exercises can help to maintain what we have and build more capacity to continue life.
We have patients of all functions attending this group session – including those who can’t get down to the ground – but the main purpose is to work on key areas to help you live better. If this is something of concern for you, please call us on 95801985. We can arrange a FREE assessment to look at your mobility and assess suitability for the class.
