Spring Is in Full Swing!

Spring is well and truly in full swing, and the extra daylight hours are a very welcome sight! With the warmer weather comes more opportunities to get outdoors, lace up our running shoes, dust off the cricket gear and get back into the sports and activities we love.

It’s also been a busy and exciting time here at the clinic, with plenty happening both in and out of the treatment rooms. From team changes and exciting new beginnings to helping our patients prepare for the sporting season ahead, there’s lots of news to share this month!

Clinic News & Team Updates

Two very special maternity leave departures!

October is an exciting month for two of our team members, with Paige, our wonderful receptionist, and Lily, one of our physiotherapists, both heading off on maternity leave!

We’re so excited for Paige and Lily as they prepare to welcome their little ones and embark on this very special new chapter. While we’ll certainly miss having them around the clinic, we’re thrilled for them both and wish them all the very best as they get ready for the adventures of parenthood.

Paige has been a friendly face at reception, helping keep the clinic running smoothly and making sure our patients feel welcome from the moment they arrive. Lily has been a valued member of our physio team, supporting patients throughout their recovery and helping them get back to doing what they love.

We’ll miss seeing them both around the clinic, but we look forward to hearing their baby news and welcoming them back when the time is right. Please join us in wishing Paige and Lily all the very best for this exciting next chapter!

Welcome back, Katrina!

We’re delighted to announce that Katrina will be returning to the clinic in November and staying with us through until February!

Many of you will remember Katrina, who was part of our team for several years before heading off on an adventure overseas. She’s spent the past two and a half years living and working in the UK, exploring Europe and making the most of everything that comes with travelling and living abroad.

We’re so excited to welcome her back to the team, hear all about her adventures and have her familiar face back in the clinic. Be sure to say hello if you see her around!

Welcome to the team, Kiarash!

We’re also excited to have Kiarash joining the team!

Kiarash has a strong interest in injury prevention, long-term health and wellness, and taking a holistic approach to physiotherapy. His focus is on looking beyond the immediate injury to help people understand their bodies, move better and build healthy habits that support them throughout life.

Whether your goal is to recover from an injury, get back to your favourite sport, improve your strength or stay active as you get older, we’re looking forward to having Kiarash bring his knowledge and passion to the team.

Welcome to the Team, Tanasha!

We’re excited to welcome Tanasha to the clinic as our new receptionist! Outside of work, Tanasha has an impressive sporting background, having competed in national middle-distance running events and achieving an outstanding 4th place at her peak. We’re thrilled to have her on board and look forward to introducing her to all our wonderful patients!

Farewell, Jack!

After nearly 10 years with the clinic, Jack will be finishing up with us as he heads off to pursue a new career in logistics.

A decade is a huge milestone, and Jack has been a valued part of the clinic and our community over that time. We’re incredibly grateful for his contribution, the relationships he’s built and the many patients he’s helped along the way.

While we’re sad to see him go, we’re excited for him as he takes on this new challenge and wish him every success in this next chapter. Thank you, Jack, for nearly 10 wonderful years!

Thank You, Vicki!

After seven wonderful years with us, Vicki, our much-valued receptionist, is finishing up. We thank Vicki for her dedication, support and contribution to the team over the years. Many will remember her passion for hiking and walking, and we wish her all the very best for her next adventure!

Cricket Season Is Here!

With cricket season getting underway, it’s time to start thinking about preparing your body for the demands of the game.

Whether you’re a weekend cricketer, a regular club player or returning to the pitch after the off-season, a little preparation can go a long way. Bowling, batting, throwing and sprinting all place different demands on the body, and suddenly increasing your training load can leave you more vulnerable to injury.

Building up your workload gradually, improving your strength and mobility, and allowing enough time for recovery are all important parts of a successful season. Bowlers, in particular, need to be mindful of managing their bowling loads to help reduce the risk of overuse injuries.

Experiencing some niggles or looking to get your body cricket-ready? Our physio team can help you prepare for the season, address any concerns and develop a plan to keep you performing at your best.

Running Into Spring ‍♀️

Longer days and warmer weather make spring the perfect time to get back outside and enjoy a run. Whether you’re a seasoned runner, training for an upcoming event or simply looking to build your fitness, there’s plenty to look forward to over the coming months.

With running events on the calendar and many people increasing their kilometres, it’s important to remember that your body needs time to adapt to changes in training. Doing too much too soon, neglecting strength work or overlooking recovery can increase the risk of running-related injuries.

A gradual approach to increasing your distance and intensity, combined with appropriate strength training and recovery, can help you stay consistent and enjoy your running. And remember, you don’t need to be training for a marathon to benefit from a little extra attention to your running technique, strength and overall conditioning!

If you’re experiencing a niggle that’s stopping you from running comfortably, or you’re keen to prepare for your next event, our physio team is here to help.

Spring Into Action!

With so much happening this time of year, now is a great opportunity to check in with your body, set some new movement goals and make the most of the warmer weather.

Whether you need help managing an injury, preparing for the sporting season, returning to running or simply staying active and feeling your best, we're here to support you.

A little niggle doesn't have to become a bigger problem. If something isn't feeling quite right, getting on top of it early can help you keep doing the things you love.
