We are very fortunate to have great associations with universities in Victoria, and offer student placements. Students are required to complete a number of placements in a variety of settings as a part of their degree, and private practice is one component of that - be it a core part of the course (for some uni's) or an elective placement (for other uni's).
In private practice, students predominately observe sessions, and participate in some questioning to try to find out why someone is presenting for treatment, or in exercise sessions with exercises. We will always as consent for a student to be in the session, and you are most welcome to decline this. There is certainly no expectation that you have to have a student observe.
