Telehealth Physiotherapy Services

Published: August 21, 2020

What is a Telehealth appointment?

A Telehealth appointment is the usual physiotherapy service delivered through a video or phone call. You will be able to see your physiotherapist and our physiotherapists are able to see and chat to you about your condition or injury. All you’ll need is a phone or a computer or tablet device with Internet connection. We conduct our Telehealth appointments using video conferencing apps such as Zoom, or FaceTime but this can be tailored to your specific needs.

A Telehealth appointment is a great way to manage a wide range of conditions from acute injuries through to post-operative rehabilitation. In our current climate, it is ideal for anyone who would is self-isolating or would prefer to stay at home and minimise the risk to their health.

What to expect from your Telehealth appointment?

Your physiotherapist will take a comprehensive history by asking questions relating to your presenting condition or complaint with the aim of ascertaining the cause of your injury. Through a video consultation, we will also be able to observe and assess the relevant movements and painful activities.

An accurate diagnosis will be developed from your history as well as the movement tests. Your physio will then explain this diagnosis to you so you fully understand the issues and how to manage and treat your injury.

As part of your Telehealth appointment, your physiotherapist will develop a treatment plan. This will include steps that you can take to alleviate and treat your condition and symptoms as well as certain activities that may need to be modified for a period of time. This may include of stretches, mobility exercises, self-release work and strengthening exercises to ensure that your condition is well managed and you feel better as quickly as possible.

To book your telehealth appointment today please call 9580 1985 and we can help direct you. We have currently removed the ability to book online, as we need to screen patients coming into the clinic to assess the suitability for face-to-face physiotherapy at this time.
