Our physiotherapist, Vincent, has created a couple of quick videos with some taping techniques that you can do at home if you have an injury.
First up is the ankle taping. This can be used if you have a sprained ankle (rolled ankle) and can help to create more stability in the ankle and foot for running, change of direction or day to day.
With taping, it is important that if the tape makes the skin red or itchy to take it off straight away. You can generally shower with the tape on (and pat dry afterwards) and leave on for a couple of days (in the acute stage) or for the event (if taping to get through a game and reduce the risk of injury). Of course, you should always have your injury assessed first to ensure that this tape is correct for you and that any return to your normal activities is advisable at that particular time.
