ONERO® FAQ’s

Published: July 30, 2025

What is ONERO®?

ONERO® is a program developed to address Osteoporosis, Osteopenia and low bone density through heavy resistance interval training. It is part of an ongoing research program that has provided positive results in increasing bone density.

What types of exercises are included in the ONERO® program?

All exercises used for the ONERO® program are safe and can be modified by the physiotherapist to ensure continued safety.

Here are the most common exercises used in the ONERO® program:

  • Heavy resistance exercises that can use barbells and weights

  • Balance and coordination exercises

Who is able to do ONERO®?

Anyone can attend ONERO®! However, we perform an Initial Assessment to ensure the program will be safe for you to attend. This program is targeted to help those with low bone density (e.g. Osteoporosis, Osteopenia). If you have your DEXA scan results, that would be very useful to assist in the process.

Why did my doctor recommend ONERO®?

ONERO®’s research has shown that heavy resistance interval training can have as good, if not better results compared to some medications provided for individuals with low bone density.

What is the process to get into the ONERO® program?

First, you will need to attend an Initial Assessment. During this assessment, you will go through all the required baseline testing for the ONERO® program as well as pure strength testing with our AxIT System.

Once the testing is complete, the physiotherapist will inform you of the plan to get you started in the weekly classes if you are eligible. For pricing information, please contact our admin team at 03 9687 2700.

How much does it cost to attend ONERO®?

For ONERO® pricing, please contact our admin team at 03 9687 2700

If you have a valid Medicare Plan or Referral, you can use this form for the Initial Assessment and classes. This makes the sessions fully bulk-billed. Otherwise, the Initial Assessment and ONERO® classes are claimable through Private Health Insurance.

How often should I do ONERO®?

It is recommended that individuals looking to increase their bone density attend twice weekly, where possible. The change in bone density does take time, typically 6-12 months before significant changes appear.

We do advise that osteoporosis is managed life-long, as such, the ONERO® program is intended as a long term program.

Where are the classes being run?

At this time, we are running the ONERO® program out of BFT Braybrook on Ballarat Rd. The address is: Unit 1/294 Ballarat Rd, Braybrook VIC 3019.

What days and times does ONERO® run?

ONERO® will run twice a week on Tuesdays at 2:40PM and on Fridays at 12PM. This may change to offer more days and times in the future.
