Published: March 29, 2021

Welcome to Back In Motion, Como. We are excited that you have chosen our physiotherapy practice to help you achieve your goals to get better and stay better. Here at Back In Motion we understand that coming to a new clinic for the first time can sometimes seem daunting. We endeavor to make the entire process simple and enjoyable for both you and your physiotherapist. There are a few things you can do to prior to the arrival of your first appointment to assist us in ensuring your appointment runs as smoothly as possible.

Prior To Your Appointment
How to find us?

Unit 3 / 460 Canning Highway, Como, WA, 6152

Back in Motion Como is situated on a busy highway that can be hard to navigate if you are unfamiliar with the area. We can be found on the intersection of Canning Highway and Henley Street; relatively close to the North and South-bound freeway entries. Parking is available at the front of us, at the back and on the lawn. If you have any trouble finding us our reception team are always happy to help with directions, feel free to call the clinic on 9313 3414.

Arrive 10 minutes early & let reception know you are here

It is recommended that you arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your appointment time to fill out a new patient form. This is essential to make sure your appointment runs on time. Upon arrival our reception team will let your physiotherapist know you have arrived.

A new patient form is important to our physiotherapists as it provides them with personal details, as well as information about your general health and goals.  Alternatively, these details can be filled out online prior. Please ask our friendly support staff for further instructions on how to complete this.

What to Bring
Any relevant paperwork

Bringing with you any information that may be helpful for the physio to know, can streamline the process in getting you started with your treatment. If you have and Doctor's referral, any scans or recent investigations (i.e., X-rays, CT Scans, MRI Scans, Ultrasounds), please bring them to your appointment.

Your private health insurance card

For your convenience we can claim your rebate through your private health fund for you. All we need is your current health fund membership card.

Your Concession/Pensioner/Seniors Card

If you happen to have any of the above cards make sure you bring them along and show them to our reception staff at the end of your appointment for a 10% discount on all services.

Comfortable Clothing

Ensure to wear clothing that feels comfortable, and is easy to move in. There is a chance that your treatment may require a small amount of exercise, so it is best to be prepared.

The Appointment
Meeting your Physiotheraptist for your Free Initial Assessment

For all our new patients or returning patients (not seen for 3-6 months or for a new injury), you are offered a Free Initial Assessment (20 minutes) to discuss what the problem is and how physiotherapy can help. Essentially this means that you can come into your appointment without any obligations. We encourage you to have a chat with your physiotherapist about your issue and discuss if physio is right for you and what the best course of treatment will be.

If you decide to begin your course of treatment, we can offer treatment on the same day following your assessment which is charged at our standard consultation rate. If further investigations are necessary, advice may be provided to seek other medical attention. Please see our T&Cs for further information.

Rebook your next appointment

We encourage you to rebook your follow up appointment as you are leaving the clinic, this ensures that we can find a time for your next appointment that suits you. Rebooking on the day is a small actionable step towards committing to your physiotherapy goals.

We are excited to welcome you to our practice and look forward to working with you to feel and stay better.
