Pilates is based on the original theories and practices of Joseph Pilates and is an exceptional way to improve strength, flexibility and core stability for those who enjoy precision in exercising. 'Clinical Exercise' uses Pilates principles and exercises to facilitate recovery from injury based on thorough Physiotherapy assessment. We have range of Pilates equipment at Back In Motion Wantirna South. Many of our patients benefit from the inclusion of Clinical Exercise in their recovery program.
During your 'Clinical Exercise' assessment, you will have a musculoskeletal appraisal by one of our highly skilled and experienced physiotherapists. Your Physio will then begin to design your personalised Pilates based program, based upon your needs, goals and/or injuries. After your 'Clinical Exercise' assessment, you will generally require two to three one-on-one sessions, to continue to work through and develop your program. During these sessions you will learn the principles of Pilates and your Physiotherapist will guide you through the exercises designed for your needs. These one-on-one sessions allow the instructor to educate you on technique and body awareness. Your Physiotherapist can then determine your progression to one of our Clinical Exercise group classes. There are a maximum of 4 people in each class, with each individual working through their personally tailored program and exercises.
