Want to run faster, more efficiently or just pain free?
Book in a running assessment with Back In Motion, Melbourne On Collins.
This assessment can be completed on a treadmill or outside. If you would prefer to complete this consultation over telehealth, please ring our Clinic on 9602-3332 and our Physiotherapists can assist you. In this case would encourage you to send us your recordings of you running in different views (side, front and back). As part of the assessment, we will also discuss your current running and exercise schedule, injury history and goals.
Together we can work towards an exercise and running regime and present to you a thorough analysis of your running technique with a plan of how to get you running pain free, as well as faster and more efficiently (which in turn helps to reduce injuries).
Here are a few hot tips to get you started:
- Have a good baseline of strength in calf muscles and your core which helps to drive good technique.
- Have a good cardiorespiratory fitness through cross training if needed
- Ensure you don’t have much vertical oscillation (up and down body movement).
- Good linear arm swing (forward/back motion). Rotation of the arms affects the trunk and lower limb.
- Land under your centre of gravity, to reduce deceleration forces. Shorter, faster strides can assist with this particularly if you are landing too far in front.
