Pilates is a low impact, whole body workout – it is beneficial for developing muscular strength, control and flexibility, improving posture and core stability, and reducing likelihood of injuries. Our small group classes (led by a Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist) mean we can tailor exercises according to your level of experience and any injuries.
A Pilates introductory session is required prior to participating in our classes to ensure we can introduce you to important Pilates concepts/exercises and choose the best class option for you.
We offer 3 different types of Pilates classes at Back In Motion Rosny Park:
Reformer Pilates (up to 4 participants per class)
Reformer Pilates utilises a reformer bed for all exercises, providing an excellent full body workout. The springs on the reformer create the resistance for your exercises which are completed in various positions (mainly sitting, standing, lying on back/side). This class is a great option for participants looking for a challenging yet low impact form of exercise.
Circuit Pilates (up to 6 participants per class)
Circuit Pilates is a fusion of traditional strengthening/balance exercises and Pilates, providing an excellent full body workout. This class includes a series of Mat Pilates exercises, followed by a circuit which may involve the use of a Pilates reformer, weights and resistance bands. Circuit Pilates participants are ideally comfortable with getting on and off the floor (a small number of times) throughout the class.
Chair Pilates (up to 6 participants per class)
Chair Pilates focuses on gentle full body strengthening and balance, great for preventing deconditioning and falls. This class is ideal for participants wishing to avoid getting on and off the floor. All exercises are completed with the support of a chair, making the class suitable for all levels.
