What’s so great about Whole Body Vibration Therapy?
Did you know, Whole Body Vibration Therapy has been clinically proven to improve your health and wellbeing with only two 15 minute sessions per week?
The Vibration Therapy was initially developed for fitness and strengthening for astronauts. It is now widely used throughout the world by elite athletes, including our elite AFL football clubs and it is also available at various health care facilities and Back In Motion Practices.
What are the benefits of Vibration Therapy?
Strengthening:
The Vibration Therapy is a great tool for strength and conditioning. It can improve your sporting performance and overall strength. It can also be used for both injury prevention and for rehabilitation post injuries
Health and wellness:
The design of the Vibration Therapy ensures that your core stability muscles are switching on during the exercises. This will help improve your postural muscles, which in turn will both prevent injuries and improve your energy levels throughout the day.
Elderly:
The lower frequencies of the Vibration Therapy will target your bone uptake to improve osteoporosis levels, and also target your balance which can improve your gait and stability with walking.
What kind of injuries can Vibration Therapy help?
- Low back pain, neck pain, shoulder, knee, hip, foot and ankle injuries. Including muscular, ligament, tendons and joint injuries.
- It can also help arthritis, diabetes, incontinence, low bone density (osteoporosis) and balance.
How does Vibration Therapy work?
Conventional exercise training only activates our voluntary muscles. One of the positives of the Vibration Therapy is that the vibrations of the machine stimulate and activate our muscle stretch reflexes. This gets our muscles working using involuntary muscle contractions as well as traditional voluntary muscle activation. The Vibration Therapy tilt plates incorporate both a side-alternating vibration pattern as well as the vertical vibration. This is one of the keys to the great results seen with Vibration Therapy. This side-alternating vibration stimulates our normal walking patterns, these results in more specific training of our core muscles helping us achieve great results.
There are different frequency patterns and levels that can be used for an exercise program specific to your goals and history.
There are also some contraindications to this form of training so please check with your health care professional if the Vibration Therapy is suitable for you.
It is therefore essential that everybody has a tailored program specific for you designed from a health care professional.
